Graeae and New Wolsey Theatre return with the critically acclaimed, award nominated smash hit musical REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL.

The 2012 REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL tour premieres at the New Wolsey Theatre, and will then visit Hall for Cornwall, Hull Truck Theatre, Watford Palace Theatre, Dundee Rep, Ian Dury’s old stamping ground Hackney Empire and finally Nottingham Playhouse.

Written by Paul Sirett and directed by Graeae's Jenny Sealey, this coming of age tale featuring Ian Dury and the Blockheads' greatest hits such as Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll, Sweet Gene Vincent, Spasticus Autisticus and Hit Me with your Rhythm Stick will fill theatres with raucous glee.

2REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL cast perform with The Blockheads!

The Blockheads have been supporters of the show since seeing it at the premiere run last year, at Theatre Royal Stratford East. Graeae was delighted that the cast were invited to perform alongside these music legends at their four day sold-out residency at Ronnie Scott's.

This was a momentousevening for The Blockheads as they had not performed Spasticus Autisticus in public since Ian passed away over a decade ago. Read all about it here
