Darren Henley's Cultural Education Review
Friday 20 April 2012
On 28th February 2012 The long awaited Henley Review of Cultural Education and the government's response were published.NAYT's CEO Jill Adamson attended the live launch and has read the documents.
Alongside many other cultural education organisations, NAYT generally welcomes the Henley review and the compelling case it makes for the value of arts and cultural education. However, having taken an active part in the consultation process, NAYT is disappointed in the lack of understanding and profile of informal cutural education sectors, in particular we are disappointed that youth theatre fails to be mentioned at all.
In the spirit of the review's recommendations for collaborations and partnerships, NAYT came together earlier this month with members of the Drama Theatre and Young People Manifesto group to create a collective response to the review.
This response will be published later this month on the website dramatheatremanifesto.co.uk
