Finchley Youth Theatre runs courses and activities throughout the year for young people aged 11-19 (up to 25 for young people with disabilities). Any young person living or attending school in Barnet can become a member of the theatre. There are no auditions for places - you just have to be enthusiastic and show commitment. Sessions run on weekday evenings throughout the school year and specialist workshop activities take place during the holidays. Partnership work with the Inclusive Play Opportunities Project (IPOP) has enabled FYT to run drama and dance activities for young people with disabilities throughout the year. Finchley Youth Theatre has its own theatre space, fully equipped dance studio and internet access for young people. Drama and dance tutors also work in other venues across the borough. There is a small membership fee but free places are available.
