A statement from the National Association of Youth Theatres on 'rule of 6'

A statement from the National Association of Youth Theatres…

On Tuesday 8 September, the UK Government announced that from Monday 14 September, social gatherings in England would be reduced to a maximum of 6 people.

This reduction applies to ‘social gatherings’ and as Youth Theatre falls within the guidance set out by the Government relating to Out of School Settings, NAYT feel that the recent announcement does not apply to Youth Theatre activity taking place in England.

As such, NAYT believe that Youth Theatre can continue to take place, whilst sticking to the current guidance.

This guidance is ever evolving and only valid at time of publishing, please ensure you continue to check the guidance for any updates, as this can change at any time.

Here are some key highlights from the current guidance:

- A maximum of 15 young people in each session

- You must risk assess all your activity to COVID-19 standards

- Social distancing must be maintained at all times

- All sessions must take place in well ventilated spaces
