Children's Mental Health Week

Wednesday 3 February 2021

This week is Children's Mental Health Week

At NAYT we are conscious that many young people are struggling at the moment with isolation, loss of routine and all the other natural stresses and strains brought about by the pandemic. We see and appreciate all the hard work youth theatre leaders are doing right now as they run activities to engage and encourage young people to express themselves, be creative and connect with others both online and offline. The work that you are doing is vital and valued by so many.

We are aware that many youth theatre leaders are going above and beyond to run extra groups, create offline activity packs and more to help young people feel a sense of normality, connection and agency during this difficult time.

Mental health support, practical activities, training and helplines can be found here:

Remember, whatever your circumstances, whether you’re delivering online, making phone calls, catching up on social media or busy making plans for when you can get back in the space, your work is important. Look after yourselves too - and thank you for everything you are doing!
