Polka Theatre is seeking a Freefalling Youth Theatre Director/Project Manager to join their busy and ambitious Creative Learning team. Freefalling is a tailored drama programme, provided free-of-charge to Merton Borough children aged 9-11 years old who are experiencing difficulties at home or school where a high level of need has been identified.
The role will work alongside the Head of Creative Learning to manage and deliver the programme, develop relationships with schools and referral agencies and plan and deliver activity across two terms and a week-long summer project. The role is a combination of project management and facilitation, but most importantly they are looking for someone who is passionate about the provision of the arts to children, have an understanding of the issues that affect young people and have a commitment to support their development.
Experience of working within arts education, strong administration, organisational skills and teaching experience is required.
This is a Freelance role starting January through August 2020 with the possibility of extending.
Hours: 20 management days plus 60 hours teaching per annum
Fixed Fee: £5,375
Management fee x 20 days, at £150 per day
1.5hr workshop x 20, at £75 per workshop
Freefalling Summer School x 5 days, total of £875
