The Lowry is an internationally acclaimed cultural landmark situated at the heart of MediaCityUK, one of the world’s most exciting culture and media destinations.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Arts Manager to develop and produce a new theatre making company for young people as part of The Lowry’s Learning and Engagement team. You will identify, train, develop and support young theatre makers in Salford and beyond, seeking especially to engage with a range of diverse young people, ensuring that The Lowry continues to develop a strong reputation locally, regionally and nationally for nurturing young talent.
The role will require you to make effective contributions that underpin The Lowry’s strategic focus on engaging with young people, especially from harder to reach groups and communities, and supporting their skills, talent and personal development. Crucial to this is supporting young people to lead and be at the heart of the development of this programme.
A proven ability to bring drive, enthusiasm, resilience and creativity to working with diverse young people is essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience in high quality theatre making with young people in a range of contexts including site specific work, devising processes and new writing. You should also have knowledge of Greater Manchester geography and communities, including key agencies, organisations and networks.
