New NYT course for participants aged 19 - 25 years old - STEPPING UP

Stepping Up is a part time 4 month OCNLR Level 2 accredited drama training programme, offering young people aged 19 - 24 who are not in Education Employment or Training the opportunity to gain a Level 2 Certificate in Progression. The course will begin in January and run until April2019.

FREE places are available if young people are:

·         19 – 23 year olds (on 31st August 2018) and

·         They  do not yet hold a full level 2 qualification (5 GCSE’s A – C or equivalent)

 

We can only consider those who fulfil the criteria above.  Enrolment for those that are 24 years old on 31st August 2018 may be possible but course fees would then apply if they were not in receipt of benefits. We welcome applications from those who have faced barriers to education or challenging life circumstances.

 

Throughout the course participants receive a travel bursary of £5 per day, free theatre tickets, pastoral and academic support and help applying for our Level 3 Playing Up Course.

 

The course is a project based qualification that combines practical theatre making and acting skills as well as units to increase study skills and reflect on personal development in confidence building and team work. The course runs:

·         one day a week from January – February on a Wednesday 10am – 4.30pm,

·         one and a half days a week in March on a Wednesday 10am – 4.30pm and Tuesday 5pm – 7.30pm

·         5 days a week for two weeks over Easter
