Under the leadership of Sam Hodges, it has been reinvigorated as the producing theatre company for Southampton, winning both The Renee Stepham Award for Best Presentation of Touring Theatre in 2017 and The Stage Award for Best Regional Theatre 2015. In 2017 NST becomes the operating company of NST City, Southampton’s newest arts venue, which will run alongside NST Campus at University of Southampton’s Highfield Campus. The Youth Theatre Director is a key position at NST and responsible for leading and delivering the highly influential NSYT (Nuffield Southampton Youth Theatre) programme. It requires a highly organised, engaging practitioner with the skills to direct up to three annual productions and, equally importantly, to deliver high quality weekly sessions throughout three terms a year.
