Donmar Warehouse 22 – 26 October 2018
Monday 17 September 2018
We are looking for 20 young people, aged 16-18, to join us at the Donmar for a week of work experience. Could this be you?
Taking place at Donmar Dryden Street, the engine-room of all of our work, you will get to work closely with the Donmar team and other young people. Together you will gain an insight into every aspect of theatre-making.
We will show you behind the scenes: from fundraising, finance and marketing to set design, creative learning and everything that happens backstage. You will meet many of the people who help the Donmar make world-class theatre. You will also see productions and exhibitions together, work with new people, and get to know some of the varied roles in the creative industries.
By the end of the week, you will have a deeper understanding of the theatre industry and the employment opportunities offered. You will also have an opportunity to complete a Bronze Arts Award.
There is no charge to participate in the Pathways programme, and we can cover travel costs for London zones 1-6. The Donmar will provide lunch for all participants throughout the week, and cover costs for any theatre and event tickets.
How to Apply:
We would like applications by video – simply record yourself answering the following questions on your phone or computer. Upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo, and include the link in the form below by 10am on Friday 28 September.
Tell us about a piece of creative work that has inspired you recently and why? It might be a piece of theatre, a film, a piece of music, a book, photographs or paintings, graffiti, a dance piece, gig or music video – anything you like!
What do you think is the biggest challenge you will face entering the world of work?
What is the best thing you are going to bring to wherever you work?
How will participating in this experience help you achieve your goals?
If you don’t have access to a recording device, don’t worry – answer the questions via email to [email protected], or email us to organise a call with one of the Donmar team.
We recommend that you set the videos to unlisted on Youtube or Vimeo. Submissions will only be viewed by Donmar staff, and will not be shared externally.
We will inform all Pathways applicants whether they have been successful or unsuccessful by Friday 12 October.
