Solar Bear Theatre: Storytelling & Collaboration

Jonathan Lloyd

How do we tell stories in a group? This workshop will look at how to spark ideas for stories and test out some playful ways of shared storytelling. Solar Bear is a theatre company that does things differently. Inclusion and collaboration are at the heart of their mission. Reaching out to those often excluded from the arts informs Solar Bear’s ways of storytelling. It influences the stories we tell, and where and how we tell them

Jonathan is Creative Director/CEO of Solar Bear, a Glasgow-based theatre company whose work celebrates the creative possibilities of inclusion. He has previously worked as the Associate Director at Soho Theatre, Artistic Director at Polka Theatre and Artistic Director of Pegasus Theatre, one of the few theatres in the UK dedicated to work for children and young people, from 2007-2013. The workshop will be accompanied by a BSL interpreter.

It is our hope to make these events as accessible as possible, including a subsidised ticket price. If you have access requirements, such as live transcribing, please get in touch at [email protected].
