Performance Poetry for young people

(Leyla Josephine)

13th August 2-4pm

This workshop will offer practical writing exercises for young people, dissecting and exploring their world. It will give participants useful tools in writing and allowing young people to find their poetic voice. Leyla is a performance poet and currently the Edinburgh International Book Festival Schools Writer in Residence. In 2014 she won The UK National Slam at The Royal Albert Hall, she has since then won The Commonwealth Slam and The Loud Poets Grand Slam. Leyla has led workshops for Youth Theatre Arts Scotland, Perth Youth Theatre, Starcatchers, Young Women’s Movement and National Festival of Youth Theatre.

The National Association of Youth Theatres are excited to host Raising The Game Online, a week of training, webinars and workshops. These workshops support Youth Theatre practitioners, directors and freelancers working with young people.
