Festival of European Youth Theatre

The Festival of European Youth Theatre is looking for young companies from around the UK to take part in a festival in Summer 2018.


The Festival of European Youth Theatre is an international collaboration between The New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich, The Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, Derby Theatre, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, the Birmingham Repertory Theatre and partners from across Europe.


Groups will come to Birmingham during the festival, take part in workshops, perform their own work and watch other youth theatre productions. 


We’re looking for productions that meet one or more of these criteria: 


·         Productions that capture the voice of young people

·         Reflect the cultural diversity of the UK

·         Address the issue of European identity

At this stage we are looking for expressions of interest from youth theatre companies who might be want to take part in the festival. The deadline for expressions of interest is Wednesday 31st May.


After the deadline a steering group of young people from the five UK partner theatres to read through the expressions of interest, where possible see the work and decide which productions are most appropriate for the festival.
