NAYT in 2012

Tuesday 18 December 2012

2012 has been an important year for NAYT.  After we had all our funding cut in 2011, we made the decision to charge for membership.  However we were determined to give paying members a decent and professional service.  To that effect, we invested in the brand new website, as well as collating all our services in one, user-friendly and accessible location.

We’ve still been busy with events, the 4th Regional Youth Theatre in the East Midlands went down a treat as always at The Castle, whilst Yorkshire celebrated their 2nd RYTF at York Theatre Royal.  Raising The Games were held in the North East (Darlington Arts Centre) and South East (Chichester Festival Theatre).  We also held our National Raising The Game at The Octagon in Bolton with youth theatre leaders from across the country gathering for a great three days.

Behind the scenes we’ve also been looking into various other projects, given advice through the Youth Theatre Surgery and held various meetings with our associates.

So what does the future hold for NAYT?  Early 2013 will see the 5th RYTF for the East Midlands, and hopefully other associate venues will be hosting events for young people and youth theatre practitioners.  Our National Raising The Game is April 26-28th at The Point in Eastleigh, with ticket details going online very soon.

So a huge thank you to everyone who signed up as a Member, Enhanced Member or Subscriber, who came to an event, accessed our services, interacted with us on Facebook or Twitter or just generally supported the work of NAYT.

See you in 2013!
