FOREST OF DREAMS: A new immersive theatre piece for adults set in an imaginary temporary refugee camp in the woods somewhere in Europe.  Following the success of A Place at the Table in 2015 the company is creating a new piece for 2017 that builds on 20 years of work with refugees and asylum seekers, both in the UK and abroad. Forest of Dreams is for an audience of adults and brave ten years olds and over. An artist team will devise and perform the piece together with local residents, migrants and refugees. They will use food, folklore, music and theatrical story-telling to conjure a fictional transitional environment in which worlds are colliding, to explore how we say who we are, who we have been and dream together who we could be.

As with A Place at the Table, Forest of Dreams is structured around the serving and  preparing of a real meal, with the audience eating the meal as part of the show narrative. We are looking for a theatre practitioner with skills in devising and directing visual/ physical theatre with mixed casts of professionals and non-professionals, or who would welcome the challenge. Their practice may encompass other art-forms (dance, visual/ installation arts, film-making) but we prefer experience in some form of theatre.

Forest of Dreams will be presented at the 2017 British Ceramics Biennial (
